Grievance: A Letter to Roger Goodell

Grievance: A Letter to Roger Goodell

Dear Mr. Goodell,

First, let me start by congratulating you on your handling of the CBA negotiations last year. No regular season games were lost and we even were spared one less preseason game. The game’s popularity is higher than ever and I’m just glad to see some football. However, I do have some concerns.

First, how do I say this…HOW LONG DO YOU EXPECT US TO WATCH THIS PISS POOR OFFICIATING? My apologies for yelling, but I’m a little tired from staying up until midnight because the idiocy of your replacement officials adds an additional 30-45 minutes to the game. Have you noticed how the 1:00 games are even overlapping with the 4:25 kickoffs?

Where do I begin? Should I address Ryan Clark’s phantom pass interference, the official who lost his penalty flag, or how about last night’s official addressing the Falcons as “Red”? Enough is enough!

I understand they are doing their best, which is to say shitty, but really Roger? My suggestion would be to reschedule your Bounty-gate meetings and get this deal done. You always say to protect the logo. Well personally, I think the logo would have better luck with the Bears’ offensive line.

Oh, one last thing, can you really call an NFL game a family event with ticket prices the way they are?

Sincerely,
Walt J
