Grievance: A “Football” Decision is a “Blatant Lie”
I have to wonder if New England Patriots Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels and quarterback Tom Brady are sitting somewhere in Massachusetts pissing themselves laughing. I wonder if McDaniels is saying to Tom, “I planned this from the beginning. Count another division title.”
Now of course it’s ridiculous to think that McDaniels had the forethought to orchestrate a ludicrous chain of events eventually resulting in his return to the Patriots and the New York Jets in utter turmoil. However, given the recent chain of events, could you speculate?.
Mark Sanchez received a contract extension this offseason, yet his days as a starter are clearly numbered. The so-called “football” decision that Jets owner Woody Johnson claims that the Tim Tebow trade was, had nothing to do with on-field play. Why would you extend your incumbent quarterback with known confidence issues, and then put the biggest topic in sports right behind him to breathe down his neck?
This is New York. Woody Johnson wants to sell tickets and jerseys. He wants to steal New York from the Giants so bad he doesn’t know what to do with himself. The Jets’ locker room was a mess last year and this is only going to add to it. The question for next season is, if Mark Sanchez struggles, how long before the “Tebow” chants start?
